Capt Harish Gulati passed out from Officers Training Academy, Madras in May 1964. During his short career as an emergency commissioned officer in the  Regiment of Artillery, as a 2/Lieut , he saw  himself on the front lines  of combat in one of the fiercest ‘battle of Phillora’, during 1965 India- Pakistan war. He was all of 21, when he bagged two war honors- 'Raksha Medal 1965’ and 'Samar Seva Star 1965'. He hung his uniform in September, 1969

Post army career, he has held very senior positions in industry & corporate, where he managed various operational and management disciplines. Based out of Gurgaon, he has provided Management Consultancy to over a dozen organisations in the last 16 years. He is a trusted mentor and an inspirational ‘guru’. Currently, he is retained by NIFM as their Managing Consultant.

A fellow of  IMgt (UK), he is armed with PGDBA (Delhi Institute of Management), Dip in P& SC and Dip in Marketing ( both from Panjabi University, Patiala) and MBIM from British Institute of Management (UK).

His exposure to advance management   includes visits to numerous Management institutions, to name a few:  IIM-Bangalore, Administrative Staff College-Hyderabad, IMM - Lucknow, Railway Staff College- Baroda, Indian Law Institute- New Delhi, Asia Productivity Council-Tokyo, besides attending/conducting several management workshops all over in India and in Bangkok and Kathmandu.

 It can be defined as ‘a harmonized combination of multiple resources and skills that distinguish a firm in the marketplace’.

Core competencies fulfill   criteria related to selection of right people for right jobs. Core competency is something that a firm can do well and that meets the following three conditions:
