Introduction
Learn Management by Objectives (MBO) for Strategic Success
Management by objectives (MBO) is also known as management by results (MBR) is a process of clearly writing the objectives within an organization so that management and employees agree to the objectives and understand what they need to do in the organization in order to achieve them.
The term "management by objectives “was first popularized by Peter Druckerin his book: 'The Practice of Management’.
This MDP focuses on the benefits of MBO and procedural concept to practice this highly accepted practice of managing business.
MBO managers focus on the result, not the activity. They delegate tasks by "negotiating a contract of goals" with their subordinates without dictating a detailed roadmap for implementation. Management by Objectives (MBO) is about setting yourself objectives and then breaking these down into more specific goals or key results
Ideally, when employees themselves have been involved with the goal setting and choosing the course of action to be followed by them, they are more likely to fulfill their responsibilities
