A consumer price index (CPI) data is based on the changes in the price level of consumer goods and services purchases by household.  Data released by European commission. Its is released every month on the end of the last bussiness day of the current month. Eurostat bases this estimate on energy prices and EU member states that report early CPI data. While the report is narrow and void of line items, it's extremely early and can impact the market.  Consumer prices account for a majority of overall inflation. Inflation is important to currency valuation because rising prices lead the central bank to raise interest rates out of respect for their inflation containment mandate
